Dynamic Rules & Scheduling
Pro dynamic rules choose a profile when the default HTTP rendering API is requested with?dynamic=1. Rules do not alter the static raw.githubusercontent.com SVGs as a visitor opens the README.
When rules are enabled for the default profile, the editor generates a dark/light <picture> whose sources use https://gitascii.com/api/USERNAME?dynamic=1&theme=dark|light. That request evaluates the current rule set and renders or redirects to the selected profile. Explicit named slugs continue to refer to that slug.
Rule types
Higher-priority enabled rules are checked first; the configured fallback profile applies when none match. The simulator in
/pro/profiles lets you test a date and timezone before enabling a rule.
Dynamic API responses can be cached, so a rule change may not be visible to every client immediately. If you want a stable GitHub-hosted embed instead, use the published profiles/[slug]/{dark,light}.svg URLs.
